We stopped at The Vermilion Farmer’s Market on our way to stay with Sam and Susan of Warm Showers. We were eating our lunch when an elderly woman came up and asked us about our trip. We told her about going from Bedford, MA to LA to visit David’s mother. As we explained our trip she became more and more excited. She had never traveled and had not flown on a airplane.

She lived in Amherst, Ohio and didn’t even venture into the heart of Vermilion the next town over. She doesn’t use a computer and doesn’t have internet. She requested a postcard when we reached LA and gave us her address. I gave her my information and she said she was going to put it on her calendar in mid to late September and hoped we would send her confirmation of our arrival. We intend to do just that. Sometimes it is the excitement of others that keeps us rolling.
