Camping in New Salem, North Dakota (August 21, 2012)

After the luxury stop, we made our way to New Salem, ND
Nice welcoming sign into New Salem

No doubts where we are.
.

This is a movie of me climbing on the way to New Salem.  I am just a dot on the horizon.

"Salem Sue" The world's biggest Holstein cow

Another view of Sue.

We camped at a city park.  The town in noted for the world’s largest Holstein cow which is named “Salem Sue.”.

There is a brochure about it that even had a song to the cow:

We’ve got the world’s/largest Holstein cow/that looks across our fields

Her presence show/that New Salem grows/with milk-producers yields

Friends will come and/view from near and far,/She will tell to all/Just where we are

We’ve got a cow/world’s largest cow,/that looks across our fields.

David bets it’s a catchy tune when heard live.  We puttered around town and saw some old trucks and whatnot.
Careful of the paint!

Where the old ones come to retire.

The museum was closed. It's in the background.

David took a movie from the campground that really gives a good sense of the North Dakota landscape and New Salem in particular.
