DW: We left Lansing Iowa shortly before 7AM. As we are leaving, we met \ another cyclist also
leaving early and heading east. I warned him about the upcoming hills but he
has made another route on his map, preferring the interstates rather than the
country roads.

Clouds and cool - a good start |
PAS: It was cool and misty and the moon (which is just past
full) was still out shining through the mist.
The morning was pleasant enough then it got really hot. We left hilly Iowa and entered Minnesota with
little fanfare. We then went off route
to La Crosse, WI to go to a bike shop to get David’s wheel trued. They did an adequate job, but given a truing
stand and some time, I think I could do better.
They did dish the wheel (which is making the spoke tension even). We need to go back through La Crescent, MN in
the morning to get back on route and to see if my package has arrived at the
post office. (I am crossing my fingers.) Mostly, we are still kind of wiped from the
hills yesterday and the continuing heat.
It is supposed to cool off this weekend, which will be a welcomed
change.
